About the Role

Senior Projects Executive – Competitions (12‑Month Maternity Cover) – Birdcage Walk, London (with hybrid working).

Full‑time fixed‑term maternity contract of approximately 12 months.

The Role

As a Senior Projects Executive, you will lead successful delivery of our engineering competitions, ensuring projects and events are delivered to the highest standards and achieve their strategic objectives.

You will take ownership of Formula Student, overseeing its full annual lifecycle from planning through to live delivery, working within budgets and project plans to lead project teams, monitor performance, drive innovation, and ensure objectives, funding commitments and key deliverables are achieved.

You will also be responsible for on‑site event operations, overseeing venues, suppliers, budgets, procurement, registrations and onsite delivery, acting as the main point of contact for competitors, volunteers and other participants.

  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of other competitions and operational projects as required.
  • Produce data and reports to support strategic planning and performance monitoring.
  • Build strong relationships with committees, volunteers and key stakeholders.
  • Organise committee meetings, prepare agendas and produce accurate minutes.

About You

  • Demonstrable end‑to‑end event operations experience, ideally delivering large‑scale events and projects.
  • Experience of managing budgets to achieve targets and maximise value.
  • Experience building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage at all levels.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to use your own initiative.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including frequent overnight stays.
