IMechE is looking for a Governance Executive to strengthen the delivery of effective governance across the Institution. In this exciting role, you will be involved in supporting our IMechE Boards and Committees and championing best-practice governance.

Your primary focus will be the provision of high-quality support to IMechE’s Boards and Committees. You will also be assisting the Governance Manager with the Annual Meeting and Annual Elections processes. You will also be handling questions raised by members. This will afford a great opportunity to see at first hand and learn about the workings of the Institution.

Other secondary responsibilities of the role may occasionally include assisting with policy development and implementation, and maintaining the central policy library and contracts log.

About You

To be considered as a Governance Executive, you will need to have a well-rounded knowledge of governance, which should include experience of:

  • Working in a governance role, and the provision of high-quality support to boards and committees (e.g. planning agendas, running meetings, monitoring and progressing actions, and producing succinct and accurate minutes)
  • Establishing good working relationships with senior stakeholders
  • The ability to interpret and apply regulations, rules and procedural frameworks
  • The ability to handle multiple meetings/projects with tight (and competing) deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience of working for a Charity or Membership organisation would be desirable

The position offers hybrid working, with a minimum attendance of two days per week in the office.
