Events Executive – Venue Hire\\nOne Birdcage Walk, Central London\\nThe Company\\nWith almost 110,000 members in 140 countries, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) has been at the heart of the mechanical engineering profession since 1847.\\nOur home in London is One Birdcage Walk, a magnificent building overlooking St James's Park and is just moments away from HM Treasury, the Houses of Parliament and Horse Guards Parade. Here, our flexible venue can host events from lectures, conferences, meetings, away days, seminars and training courses to drinks receptions and fine dining events, whilst acting as the heart of the Institution.\\nWe are proud to have achieved workplace accreditations – We invest in people Gold and We invest in wellbeing Silver – which reflect our organisation’s commitment to our employees.\\nThe Role\\nWe are looking for an Events Executive to join us at the historic and beautiful One Birdcage Walk on a permanent, full-time basis.\\nThis role will be known internally as Commercial Venue Executive.\\nYou will manage venue bookings at One Birdcage Walk and deliver exceptional service to both internal and external clients.\\nActing as the first point of contact for all venue enquiries, you will manage bookings, confirm arrangements, and co-ordinate requirements with internal teams, including AV, catering, and facilities.\\nYou will oversee the efficient use of rooms, prioritising commercial bookings to maximise occupancy and revenue, while maintaining accurate records and preparing event documentation such as proposals, contracts, and invoices.\\nAdditionally, you will:\\n- Manage and update the venue’s website, driving traffic and enquiries\\n- Support marketing initiatives and proactively promote the venue to new clients\\n- Deliver high standards of customer service and conduct venue show rounds\\n- Upsell additional services and recommend improvements to enhance revenue and service delivery\\nPerson Specification\\nTo be considered as a Events Executive, you will need:\\n- Proven experience of working in a venue arena\\n- Experience within a customer-oriented administrative environment, including providing a high-quality customer service and dealing with enquiries from all levels of stakeholders\\n- Experience using a CRM system and room booking and event software\\n- Good organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills\\nSalary and Benefits\\n- Salary of circa £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus bonus\\n- Training and career development\\n- Work/life balance including 26 days’ holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays\\n- Benefits including stakeholder pension scheme, birthday and volunteering leave, life assurance, and private health cover\\n- Miscellaneous extras\\nThis is a unique opportunity for a customer focused professional from a venue management and events background to join our prestigious organisation and manage events at one of London’s most distinctive and historically significant buildings.\\nYou will play a central role in welcoming a diverse mix of clients to One Birdcage Walk, an architectural gem in the heart of Westminster.
