Are you an experienced operational leader in Professional Registration or Fellowship, ready to shape how we deliver at scale? Do you bring the credibility and gravitas to influence senior stakeholders and volunteer leaders across a global network? Can you drive operational excellence while transforming the end-to-end professional recognition experience?
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of our Professional Registration and Fellowship operations, ensuring a high-quality, efficient, and consistent experience for members, applicants and volunteers.
- Oversee the full operational landscape, from registration engagement through to compliance and assurance, making sure processes are robust, scalable and aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline volunteer touchpoints, and enhance the overall experience.
- Work closely with volunteers, assessors and professional partners, acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, creating clarity, structure and a shared focus on delivery.
- Collaborate across the IET, ensuring a joined-up approach with colleagues in product, engagement, people and technology teams.
- Use data and insight to monitor performance, identify areas for improvement and drive informed decision-making.
What we hope you can bring to the role:
- Strong understanding of Professional Registration, Fellowship or similar assessment-based processes.
- Credibility in this space; ideally through your own professional registration (such as CEng or IEng) or through direct experience working with volunteer-led technical committees or assessment panels.
- Proven track record of improving processes and driving efficiency, with a focus on creating better experiences for both applicants and volunteers.
- Comfortable working with data, identifying opportunities for automation, and implementing practical, scalable solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, confident working across all levels of the IET, as well as with external bodies and partners.
- Experienced people leader; someone who can coach, support and develop teams while creating a positive, high-performing environment.

- Build strong relationships with volunteers, assessors, and professional partners.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory, assurance, and professional standards.
- Act as an advocate and figurehead for operational excellence in professional recognition.

- Strong experience in Professional Registration, Fellowship or similar assessment-based environments.
- Credibility with volunteers, ideally through CEng/IEng registration or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience managing and improving operational processes, ideally from within a membership-body or similar environment.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Good understanding of compliance, assurance and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in process optimisation or automation would be beneficial.
