We are recruiting an experienced Commercial Litigation Secretary to join a highly regarded London law firm on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role supports a busy Commercial Litigation team, working with fee earners from junior through to senior level, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven legal environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, detail-focused legal secretary with strong litigation experience who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • You will support the Commercial Litigation team with a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties, including client onboarding, AML and KYC checks, sanctions screening, and processing monies in and out.
  • You will coordinate the monthly billing process, prepare detailed time narratives, draft client correspondence on behalf of Partners, and complete accounts documentation.
  • The role also involves creating, amending, formatting, and converting documents into house style, preparing litigation bundles and PDF binders, producing attendance notes, and assisting with telephone cover as part of a rota system.
  • Accuracy, organisation, and discretion are essential throughout.

Qualifications

  • You will have at least 4 years' legal secretarial experience, ideally within a litigation environment, with a solid understanding of litigation workflows.
  • Strong document production skills, excellent written English, and confidence liaising with clients and third parties are key.
  • You will be proactive, calm under pressure, highly organised, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in legal systems such as Word, iManage, BigHand, Workshare Compare, Outlook, and Excel is required.
