A well-established and highly regarded law firm in Reading is seeking an experienced Family Legal Secretary to join its busy Family Law department. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced solicitors on a varied caseload involving divorce, child arrangements, financial settlements, pre-nuptial agreements and separation matters, with occasional support on civil litigation files.
Responsibilities
- Drafting legal documents, including Form E, court applications, and court bundles
- Audio and copy typing/dictation
- Preparing legal correspondence and client letters
- Liaising professionally with clients, courts, barristers, and third parties
- Diary management, arranging appointments, and organising meetings
- File management, billing, and general administrative support
- Assisting fee earners to ensure matters progress efficiently
Qualifications
- Previous experience within Family Law
- Strong knowledge of divorce, children, and financial remedy matters
- Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 60 WPM preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Professional, proactive, and client-focused approach
