Rahman Lowe is a specialist employment law firm based in Canary Wharf, London. We are ranked as a leading firm for employment law by the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners independent guides to the legal profession. The firm acts for both employers and employees.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Legal Secretary/Personal Assistant to provide a first‑class professional support service to a Partner and other fee earners, as may be required. We are looking for somebody with great organisational skills and a passion for accuracy.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing a high quality administrative and support service;
- Extensive telephone coverage and ensuring calls are answered confidently and covered at all times;
- Effective management of the electronic diary and co‑ordination with both internal and external clients – ability to juggle calendar at short notice and dedicatedly handle scheduling conflicts;
- Providing support for an extensive range of meetings;
- Making sure printing/documents are ready in advance of meetings;
- Liaising with clients;
- Dealing with routine administration, dictation and typing correspondence;
- Dealing with billing, invoicing clients, chasing unpaid bills;
- Preparing e‑bundles using Adobe Pro or similar software;
- Organising and maintaining effective filing systems, processing expenses;
- General assistance with litigation;
- Assistance with the preparation of PowerPoint slides and marketing material for events;
- Photocopying, arranging couriers and taxis, filing and ordering stationary.
You will have excellent technical skills and good knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Office, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and team working skills and, in particular, a confident telephone manner.
Qualifications required:
- GCSE Maths and English essential for the role, with good grades (A‑C) or equivalent qualifications;
- Legal Secretarial qualification or equivalent;
- At least 3‑4 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary/Personal Assistant, or similar;
- Positive attitude, ‘can do’ approach.
Experience of Dye Durham (formally Quill Pinpoint) case management system or equivalent case management system, DocuSign and Adobe Pro would be advantageous. The candidate must be available to start, ideally in late July in this full-time role. Part time applicants will also be considered.
Salary: Competitive—£30,000‑£40,000. Dependent upon experience.
