The predicted salary is between 27600 - 32500 £ per year.
£27,600.00 – £32,500.00 (Salary dependent on experience)
£1,200 Outer London or £2,400 Inner London allowance (pro rata, if applicable to your location)
Full-time (37.5 hrs pw) or part-time (min. 30 hrs pw), permanent
Location: North East England (office based) or Rest of UK (remote / home-based)

The Opportunity
We’re looking to appoint a Heritage Consultant. You’ll contribute to a wide range of heritage consultancy projects, including:
- Desk-Based Assessments
- Heritage Statements
- Historic Building Recording reports
- Written Schemes of Investigation
- Cultural Heritage ES Chapters for EIA
- Monitoring of Archaeological Sub-contractors works
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll have a solid foundation in heritage consultancy, with the ability to deliver high-quality reports and take ownership of the work assigned to you. You’ll have a strong background in archaeology and / or heritage, with a good understanding of planning and heritage policy. You’ll also be comfortable communicating with clients and stakeholders. At AB Heritage, you’ll be part of a friendly, professional, and hardworking team that values collaboration and mutual support. We take pride in helping each other deliver great results for our clients while promoting a positive, respectful working culture where everyone contributes to shared success.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in heritage consultancy or a related sector
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills
- Familiarity with UK planning and heritage legislation
- CIfA membership or IHBC membership
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel and work away from home occasionally
