As a Department Manager at our White City store, you will be the heartbeat of our retail environment, leading by example to deliver an exceptional inβstore experience for our community.
You'll manage daily operations, overseeing a team of Team members to deliver best in class service, drive sales performance, and maintain store presentation standards.
With a passion for fitness and fashion, you'll inspire your team to foster a culture of energy, positivity, and collaboration while working closely with leadership to implement Gymshark's vision and goals.
This position offers a salary of Β£38,500
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Coaching, motivating and developing a high-performing operational team through regular feedback, training and performance management.
- Monitoring operational KPIs and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and stock availability.
- Supporting department planning, forecasting stock requirements and ensuring operational readiness for key trading periods, launches and promotions.
- Driving health & safety compliance, including safety checks, risk management and creating a safe working environment for colleagues and customers.
- Conducting investigations, managing performance conversations and supporting people processes with fairness and professionalism.
- Collaborating closely with Store Management and Department Managers to deliver shared business objectives.
- Leading operational floor walks and audits to ensure standards, compliance and operational excellence are consistently achieved.
- Delivering clear communication to your team through daily huddles, briefs and operational updates.
- Acting as a key leader within the store and stepping into wider management responsibilities when required.
- Continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes, develop talent and enhance operational performance.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Retail management β Experience of working in fast paced retail store managing a team on the shop floor.
- Leadership β Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead a diverse team toward achieving store goals and delivering excellent customer experiences.
- Communication β Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with staff, customers, and senior management.
- Customer Service β Expertise in handling customer needs, resolving complaints, and creating an outstanding inβstore experience.

- Performance Tracking β Ability to monitor and analyse KPIs and other performance metrics to drive improvement.
- Sales & Marketing Knowledge β Understanding of sales strategies, promotions, and how to drive store performance to meet and exceed targets.
- Problem-Solving β Ability to quickly identify issues and develop effective solutions, whether it's customer concerns, team dynamics, or operational challenges.
- Time Management β Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and ensure that daily operations run smoothly.
- Team Development & Training β Skill in hiring, coaching, and developing staff to ensure a knowledgeable, efficient, and engaged team.
- Conflict Resolution - Ability to handle disputes, both with customers and staff, in a calm and professional manner.
- Attention to Detail β Ensuring store presentation, stock levels, and operational processes are executed to high standards .
- Organis ational Skills β Efficient in planning store schedules, managing tasks, and ensuring all operations are running efficiently.
- Health & Safety Knowledge β Ensuring a safe environment for both staff and customers by adhering to store policies and legal regulations.
This role is subject to a Basic DBS check.
