You’ll Fit Right Inn
We have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Apprentice to join us. You will be part of the IT team based at the head office and report to the Infrastructure and Information Security Manager. Whilst primarily support and infrastructure-based, the role is broad and will allow you to gain experience in systems, infrastructure, end-user support and data across both on-premise and cloud-based environments.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for IT, enjoys helping others and is eager to learn new skills.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Supporting business users via incident and service requests, both internally and co-managed helpdesk systems, working with ICG’s support vendors.
- Primary hands-on support for users at head office location.
- On and offboarding of staff, including hardware setup and deployment (Windows environment, Active Directory/Azure hybrid environment, Microsoft 365).
- Updating data across various systems, working with the entire IT department to keep data consistent and up to date.
- Physical network equipment upgrades across our estate to migrate to the latest generation, working with and supporting the Infrastructure manager at site.
- Testing configuration and security changes to deploy into the business.
Required Skills and Traits:
- A strong interest in the IT industry and a desire to progress into an IT career.
- Ability to communicate with end users across a range of IT skillsets and support them.
- Be methodical and able to follow processes, especially in regard to problem solving.
Desirables:
- Some IT-based further education or previous IT apprenticeship experience (e.g. level ICT 1 or 2).
