The role

The Social Media Assistant Manager is responsible for the end-to-end ownership and execution of our INKEY’s Instagram channel. This role leads content ideation, briefing, sourcing, creation, publishing and performance optimisation to drive brand awareness, engagement and community growth. This is a hands‑on role, partnering closely with creative, marketing and influencer teams to ensure content is culturally relevant, on‑brand and aligned to our educational and commercial priorities. From concept through to reporting, this role ensures Instagram is consistently executed to a high standard and delivers measurable impact. This role works side by side with Tik Tok Social Media Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute the Instagram strategy aligned with brand and commercial objectives
  • Build and manage monthly content calendars
  • Identify content pillars and ensure consistency across feed, reels, stories and highlights
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, trends and algorithm changes
  • Continuously test new formats and approaches to drive engagement and growth

Content Ideation & Creation

  • Lead creative ideation for Instagram-first content
  • Develop engaging concepts for reels, static posts, carousels and stories
  • Write compelling captions aligned with brand tone of voice
  • Brief internal teams, creators, freelancers, or agencies for content production
  • Collaborate on shoots with our TikTok Manager (product, lifestyle, UGC, educational content, etc.)
  • Ensure content is platform-native and optimized for engagement

Briefing & Production Management

  • Create clear and inspiring content briefs
  • Manage timelines for content creation and delivery
  • Review and approve creative assets before publishing
  • Coordinate with design, creative, PR, influencer and marketing teams
  • Ensure brand consistency across all visual and written content
  • Own daily publishing and scheduling across Instagram (feed, Reels, Stories)
  • Align with the Community team on key messaging, campaigns and reactive moments
  • Work closely with the Community Management team to ensure timely and on-brand responses to comments and DMs
  • Identify opportunities for reactive or real-time content
  • Track and report on our KPIs with actionable insights
  • Use analytics to refine strategy and improve performance
  • Monitor sentiment, recurring themes and audience feedback, feeding insights back into content strategy
  • Work closely with influencer/creator/affiliate teams to amplify content
  • Assist in briefing and repurposing of UGC and influencer content for Instagram
  • Align Instagram content with broader marketing campaigns and launches

Skills & experience

  • 4+ years social media experience
  • Strong understanding of Instagram (Reels, Stories, feed strategy, trends)
  • Proven track record of growing engagement and community
  • Experience briefing creatives and managing content production
  • Strong copywriting skills with attention to tone of voice
  • Highly organised with strong project management skills
  • Analytical mindset with experience using Instagram Insights and reporting tools (Dash)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Good understanding of the beauty landscape, with knowledge of skincare trends and ingredients preferred
