As the sole charge HR manager, you will need to be really hands on and will be given full autonomy to make the role your own and implement change. This is a really broad HR role, where you will work across all HR remits; some processes will be in place but it is up to you to tweak or implement new processes where you see fit. This will suit someone who is excited by implementing new initiatives, loves working in a creative environment and has a passion for people and welfare.
The role:
- Be the main point of contact for all HR matters
- Recruit the best talent for the studio across all departments, manage interview process, references, offer letters and contracts
- Write job descriptions with the heads of department and ensure these are adhered to
- Drive recruitment initiatives and career progression plans
- Put a structure in place for appraisals, quarterly reviews and pay reviews and ensure salary bands are maintained
- Establish a clear onboarding & induction process
- Ensure company values are communicated and consistent
- Document data regarding sickness, succession plans, appraisals, etc.
- Be involved in all staff disciplinaries with their line manager when needed
The person:
- Super organized with excellent attention to detail
- Has HR experience in a creative/studio/design agency and some recruitment experience
- Preferably CIPD qualified
- Preferably experience as the head of HR/sole charge HR role
- Professional, passionate and switched on
- Some experience with employment law is helpful but not vital as external lawyers are available
