Great opportunity for a growing Creative agency as their new Head of Finance! You will look after all financial control as well as commercial insights across the London office as well as another European hub. You will support the MD in the running of the agency, including strategy on growth plans and ensuring profitability always. With collaboration, this role is super important to influence the sustainable scaling and success of the agency!
This role will suit someone who is happy to be hands-on in the detail, as well as confident client-facing and pushing back on commercials and contract agreements etc. You will have a small team below you to support with management accounts, month-end close, accounts payable, WIP billing etc.
- Produce accurate and consistent financial operations
- Review the monthly management accounts, providing commentary and insights
- Drive commerciality across the agency, partnering with the MD
- Analysing project performance, identifying trends and highlighting any risk
- Chargeability, utilisation and margin reporting, upskilling the client services team where appropriate
- Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- Tweak or overhaul internal systems and processes and implement efficiencies
- Ensure balance sheet, revenue recs, WIP etc is accurate
- Ensure yourself and the finance team adhere to compliance, tax regulations and reporting deadlines
- Manage, mentor and develop the finance team, supporting their career progression
- Lead year-end close and liaise with external auditors
The person:
- Must be fully qualified (ACA/ ACCA/CIMA)
- Confident and a strong leader
- Collaborative approach
- Must have worked in a Creative, experiential, events agency or similar
- People management experience
- Happy to be hands-on in the detail when needed
- Very commercially astute with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex financial and commercial reports in an engaging and easy to understand way
- Solid technical accounting knowledge
- Someone who enjoys the busy and energetic vibe of busy studio life
- SOX experience helpful
- Manage upwards when needed and push back on their decision making when appropriate
