We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Nursery Manager to join the friendly and supportive nursery team at King’s St Alban’s Prep School Nursery. King’s St Alban’s Nursery offers a warm and nurturing environment. We are proud to provide a ‘family feel’ setting to ensure children gain the stability needed to develop confidence and independence as they start their school journey.

Our team of hugely committed practitioners love making sure that our children are greeted warmly on arrival and encouraged to participate in a variety of activities. This post would suit an individual with lots of ideas, energy, ambition and enthusiasm; a proactive team player who will work alongside the Nursery Manager on a day-to-day basis, ensuring the continued success of our award‑winning provision whilst becoming involved in the wider life of King’s St Alban’s and the King’s Foundation.

The Role

  • Manage delivery of the Early Years curriculum in Nursery in conjunction with the Nursery Manager
  • Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Work closely with the Nursery Manager in many areas including communication, curriculum, assessment, staffing, development and use of facilities
  • Act as Room Leader for one of the Nursery rooms
  • Champion robust safeguarding practices

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent) is essential
  • A BA in Education Studies or degree in Childhood Studies is desirable
  • At least two years’ experience in a nursery setting
  • An approachable, friendly and caring nature with the ability to assist in leading a team with confidence
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Working pattern: This is a permanent, year‑round position, 37.5 hours per week.

Start date: As soon as possible following the successful completion of pre‑employment checks.

Salary: Up to £29,367 per annum depending on skills and experience.
