This is a part-time position, although candidates with experience of leading the Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) and/or Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), or coordinating an Early Career Teacher (ECT) programme, are particularly encouraged to apply. These additional responsibilities could increase the role to full-time.

As Head of Religious Studies, you will:

  • Lead and develop the Religious Studies department.
  • Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Line manage members of the department.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, supporting pupils' academic and personal development.
  • Inspire a love of learning through engaging, high-quality teaching.

Religious Studies is a valued and successful subject at Luckley:

  • Key Stage 3: All pupils study RS as a compulsory subject.
  • GCSE: A popular option following the AQA Specification A (Christianity and Islam).
  • A Level: Students study the Edexcel course, including Philosophy of Religion, Ethics and Christianity.

We are looking for an inspirational classroom practitioner who:

  • Has experience teaching Religious Studies to A Level.
  • Is passionate about delivering exceptional teaching and learning.
  • Can provide strong leadership and vision for the department.
  • Shares our commitment to nurturing every pupil's potential.
  • Enjoys contributing to the wider life of a vibrant school community.
