Warwick Preparatory School is seeking to appoint an outstanding, innovative and compassionate Librarian to work alongside our current part‑time Librarian. The role is part‑time, working Tuesday through Friday 10.15am – 1.45pm, term‑time only plus our 4 Inset days.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and people skills, a positive mindset, and a forward‑thinking approach to developing a love of reading, fostering leadership skills and delivering excellence in public speaking. The successful candidate will take responsibility for running the Library (Tuesday‑Friday) and managing the work of our pupil Librarians and Library Captain. They will also oversee the small Library based in the Pre‑Prep.
Reporting to the Head of English, our Librarian has a key role in developing the wide range of skills in our English curriculum. Our Librarian will lead the school’s approach to reading for pleasure, offering ideas and developing new initiatives to ensure that all children are encouraged to read widely.
The Librarian will promote the use of the Library for children of all ages, including through reading groups and other extra‑curricular activities and engender a love of learning, inspiring children to be curious, creative, independent learners.
Salary: The salary scale for this role is Point 15 FTE £24,623, which is equivalent to actual salary of £7,428 per annum.
