Hours of Work: Circa one day of teaching per week during term time, engaged on a self‑employed basis. Additional teaching hours may become available once new lesson applications are received ahead of September.
Overview: The Headmaster and CEO of Eltham College Family of Schools seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Piano who will inspire a love of music and high levels of motivation for progress and performance among our students. The successful candidate will have experience as a performer and teacher at all levels, and be willing to teach students from beginner level to Grade 8 and beyond across both the Junior and Senior Schools (ages 7‑18).
Responsibilities:
- Deliver one‑to‑one piano lessons to students of varying levels, ensuring high calibre instruction that encourages musical growth.
- Assist with duets or trios, concerts, and performance coaching as required.
- Organise personal teaching timetable while coordinating with Music Administrators for support.
- Encourage students to perform to the high standards expected by the School and facilitate their success in music examinations and concert performances.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Substantial experience as a performer and a piano teacher across a broad range of levels.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach to teaching.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in music.
- Aware of performance standards appropriate to a private independent school context.
