Downe House has an exceptional opportunity for a Teacher of Physics to join our successful Science department from January 2027 on a full or part time basis (0.8 FTE). We are a leading independent boarding school for girls aged 11–18, based in the village of Cold Ash near Thatcham. Our aim is to provide pupils with a wealth of academic, pastoral and co‑curricular opportunities to allow them to grow into confident young women prepared to take on the world. The school has a well‑equipped Science Faculty housed within a purpose‑built building, boasting 8 fully equipped, modern laboratories. We are also fortunate to have 4 specialist technicians on hand to support our teachers with lesson and equipment preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Physics to all levels, including GCSE and A Level students.
