The principal role of the Sports Assistant is to support the PE/Games department. In addition, Sport Assistant’s will support extra-curricular and boarding within and beyond normal School hours. The role is fixed term from January 2026 until August 2026.

The post may be adapted to suit the specific talents of the candidate but the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic sportsperson, ideally with experience of coaching hockey, cricket, rugby, football and/or netball. This role would particularly suit someone who is keen to pursue a career in teaching.

The duties will include supporting academic staff in the delivery of academic, extra-curricular and pastoral programmes in a variety of learning environments. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute fully to the success and happiness of a boarding house including evening and weekend duties.

A competitive salary and on-site accommodation will be provided.

The successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in the life of our busy boarding school which is located on the outskirts of the attractive market town of Tavistock on the edge of Dartmoor National Park in Devon.
