Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Teacher of Music and Sixth Form Music Coordinator to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is a magical place: home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.
Responsibilities
- Full‑time, permanent role suitable for experienced, qualified music teachers. Start date September 2026.
- Shape the curriculum for the future of academic music at Chetham’s, including developing and reviewing A Levels in Music and Music Technology and exploring possible new qualifications.
- Work within a stimulating and dynamic department with diverse colleagues and exceptional students.
Qualifications
- Excellent teacher with a proven track record in secondary education.
- Committed to academic accessibility through the exploration of a range of post‑16 qualifications.
- Able to guide students toward the most suitable pathway for the next stage of their education.
- Boundless enthusiasm for young people and their musical journey.
