Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Concerts Administrator to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in city centre Manchester. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world-class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.

About the Role

The role is part‑time, with standard baseline hours of 21 hours per week for 41 weeks per year (36 weeks term‑time, 5 weeks non‑term‑time). Additional hours may be undertaken, payable via timesheet, anticipated as follows:

  • Increase hours to full‑time for 6 weeks during Music Course prep weeks in October, February, and June/July
  • Approximately 20 Saturday shifts (around 0830 – 1330 term‑time only)
  • Non‑term‑time work can be arranged with greater flexibility based on individual and business needs

Responsibilities include supporting the delivery of students’ regular concerts, large rehearsals and performance opportunities. During term‑time working hours should, by majority, fall within a standard school working day (0830 – 1630) and include the regular Saturday morning shifts (20 Saturday mornings per year). Flexibility to work outside of these hours, including evenings and some unsociable hours, especially during Music Course weeks and other student performances, is essential.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary: £14,053.08 (FTE £26,817.65) – £15,242.16 (FTE £29,086.77); Scale Points 15 – 17.
