Bury Grammar School is seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated Catering Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality catering service, supporting the preparation and service of meals to pupils, staff and visitors.
Working as part of a busy and supportive team, you will play an important role in ensuring a safe, hygienic and welcoming dining environment across the school.
The RoleThe successful candidate will:
Assist with the preparation and presentation of food and service areas to a high standard.
Support the preparation of food, including basic cooking and handling of prepared items.
Serve meals, sandwiches and beverages efficiently and professionally.
Undertake general kitchen and dining duties, including washing up, clearing tables and cleaning equipment and surfaces.
Operate the cashless catering/till system where required.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with Health & Safety regulations.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient catering service.

Previous experience in a catering environment is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
