Kimbolton School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated teacher of Politics to lead our successful and vibrant department. We welcome applications from experienced teachers. We will also consider high quality applications from less experienced teachers who may be able to take on the role with support.
Politics is taught at A-Level with exceptionally strong uptake. There are currently two sets at Upper Sixth and two at Lower Sixth.
The main duties of a Head of Department include ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained across the department, and to be responsible for the attainment and progress of all pupils. Additional duties, including compiling a departmental budget, overseeing departmental resources and rooms and writing and implementing a Departmental Development Plan are also required.
The successful candidate should hold qualified teacher status alongside a good degree in a relevant discipline. Experience of teaching KS5 students is essential, as well as a secure knowledge and understanding in the specialist subject. You will have a passion for teaching, be enthusiastic and committed, with good communication skills and a forward thinking approach.
