Chetham’s School of Music seeks an accomplished performer, teacher and leader with a specialism in Woodwind to fulfil a Head of Department role. The Job A permanent, term time only role from January 2027 (subject to recruitment checks). 4 days per week, Monday to Friday (with additional hours supporting student performances/ rehearsals during the evening and at weekends as required). Hours can be considered on an individual and flexible basis. (This role may be suitable for a job share for the right candidates). Regular Saturday morning work is required, plus some evening and additional weekend work. The role will focus on caretaking the Woodwind, Brass and Percussion Department. The successful candidate(s) will support our Woodwind, Brass applicants must be willing to undertake child protection screening including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service Reg.
