Overview

We are looking for an ambitious IT Operations Manager to lead the delivery of IT services across Francis Holland School, Sloane Square and Francis Holland Preparatory School, while supporting the wider Trust in our strategic aims. The role is suitable for experienced IT leaders or senior engineers ready to transition into management, offering the opportunity to make a real impact.

Working closely with the Director of Technology, you’ll help deliver reliable, secure and innovative technology services that support teaching and learning. You’ll have the opportunity to lead a skilled team, drive service improvements, deliver technology projects and influence IT across our schools.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, strategic thinking and project delivery in an environment where technology is valued as a driver of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day delivery of IT services across the schools, ensuring security, reliability and responsiveness to staff and pupils.
  • Lead a small, dedicated team, providing technical guidance and hands-on support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Technology to plan and deliver technology projects and service improvements.
  • Support the future direction of IT strategy across the school community.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT operations, leadership or senior technical roles with a track record of delivering reliable IT services.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management, security, and project delivery in an educational environment (or similar).
  • Ability to lead, mentor and develop a technical team while maintaining hands-on involvement as required.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
