Caldicott is one of the country’s most prestigious Independent Boarding and Day Preparatory Schools for Boys. We are a flourishing school with around 250 boys from 7 to 13 years old, delivering a first-class education, sporting provision, and a rich variety of music, drama, arts, and extracurricular opportunities in a friendly and supportive working environment. The school is only twenty miles from central London in a beautiful location. Caldicott has a strong and proud rugby tradition.

We are looking to appoint an inspirational Head of Rugby who will build on our sporting successes and continue to develop rugby at all levels throughout the school. The ability to inspire, nurture, and develop confidence in children is essential for this role.

Qualifications:
  • Excellent rugby knowledge, ideally RFU Level 3 qualified
  • A strong degree and exemplary coaching qualifications and experience, working with school age rugby players
  • A high understanding of the 7 to 13 age range
  • The ability to identify and develop aspirational rugby players
  • A proven track record of success that would add to Caldicott’s sporting culture
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to work as part of a team both on and off the playing field
Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and deliver our rugby programme
  • Guide and support teams and coaching staff
  • Ensure that pupils of all abilities are able to reach their potential and flourish in the sport through high-quality training
  • Develop, integrate, and facilitate a Player Development Pathway for aspirational players
  • Organise and oversee rugby festivals and tournaments, including the Caldicott 7s and National 10s
