Queenswood School is seeking an Organist to join our vibrant and ambitious Music Department to support the worship in our beautiful Chapel. The position is required starting September 2026.
Position Overview
As School Organist you would play a pivotal role in the musical worship of the school, playing our organ (or piano if more appropriate) before and during assemblies and services in the Chapel, which celebrates its centenary this academic year.
Responsibilities
- Play the organ for morning assemblies and services Monday to Thursday.
- Provide additional music for events such as Remembrance Day, Advent, Confirmations and the Leavers Service.
- Deliver organ tutoring to students of all ages and abilities, preparing them for concerts, examinations and scholarships.
- Work in conjunction with the Graduate Musician and Administrator role or independently.
Qualifications
We are looking for an inspiring and versatile organist with the enthusiasm, warmth and commitment needed to inspire young musicians of all ages and abilities.
Salary and Hours
The hours for this post are flexible and term-time only. Salary will be based on a peripatetic contract or on a self‑employment basis.
