We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher for September 2026 or January 2027 with a specialism in football, and who has a keen interest in teaching across the curriculum to both the junior school (mixed) and senior school (all girls) pupils. As the department seeks to develop, there is the opportunity for the successful candidate to also be appointed head of a specific sport, depending on their skills and specialisms.
The appointed candidate will be able to carry out the following duties:
- To be confident in teaching a range of subject areas with games and PE lessons.
- To take matches and run additional clubs as part of the extra curricular programme.
- To keep abreast of Health and Safety issues concerning each sport.
- To be responsible for safety during lessons and to maintain discipline.
- To write schemes of work as necessary for the department.
- To assist with and take responsibility for organising trips where necessary.
The appointed candidate is immediately responsible to the head of the department. The PE timetable is put together by the director of sport, who allocates subject areas based on the strengths of our staff. All members of the department are affiliated with the Physical Education Association to keep updated on developments in PE and teaching methods.
