Teacher of Design Technology (1 year Fixed Term contract, part time: 3 days per week) – King Henry VIII Senior School Required from 1st September 2026.

An outstanding classroom practitioner, the successful candidate will inspire pupils with their passion for Design & Technology. If you have a real passion for teaching and learning, then our inspirational teaching team at King Henry VIII School is looking for a colleague to join the DT department—which has secured VEX Robotics Competition national titles four years in a row.

Your dynamic and creative approach will help encourage and inspire our students across Key Stage 3 and 4 (and possibly Key Stage 5 for the right candidate). Design & Technology, alongside other creative subjects, is one of the many strengths of the school and is a popular choice at both GCSE and A Level. Students have gone on to pursue further study and careers in engineering, product design, architecture, and related fields at leading universities and apprenticeships.

We have well‑equipped specialist workshops, design studios, robotics room providing students with opportunities to develop practical skills, creativity and innovative thinking. Our GCSE and A Level results are as you would expect from an academically selective school with high aspirations for all pupils. At King Henry’s, however, we believe there is so much more to education than simply exam results.

Design & Technology is a subject rooted in problem‑solving and creativity, and the department places great emphasis on developing technical competence, independence, resilience and a passion for designing and making.
