Woodford Green Preparatory School is looking for a reliable, practical and proactive individual with experience in caretaking, maintenance or facilities management to help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Working as part of our site team, you will undertake a wide range of caretaking duties including general maintenance, site security, health and safety checks, supervising contractors and supporting day-to-day operational needs. Driving duties may also be required from time to time, although this is desirable rather than essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean and well-maintained at all times.
- Undertake general caretaking, maintenance and site security duties.
- Support the day-to-day operational needs, including setting up facilities for school activities and events.
- Carry out routine health and safety checks and report any issues promptly.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers and other service providers as required.
- Provide support to colleagues and assist with additional duties as directed by the Site Manager or Bursar.
About You
- Experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities or similar practical role is desirable.
- Reliable, proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and positive manner.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards and taking pride in your work.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
