The Queen’s School is Cheshire’s leading independent school for girls aged 3 to 18. Recently awarded the highest inspection rating of excellent in all areas, the school consistently achieves outstanding GCSE and A level results, placing it among the top performers nationally.
We are seeking a Head of Design and Technology (full or part time 0.8 FTE depending on candidate preference) at our Senior School to lead our recently modernised and refurbished department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
Our focused department, supported by a part‑time teacher, specialises in wood and plastic (food/textiles are not currently part of our curriculum) with access to a wide range of tools and equipment such as scroll saws, band saws, sanding machines, a laser cutter, 3D printers, vinyl cutter and other manual and electric hand tools. Our excellent facilities and boutique scale enable targeted teaching and enrich the learning environment of our pupils.
Our department delivers lessons from Years 7 to 13 with a strong uptake at GCSE and A Level. The successful candidate will bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a passion for design and technology, and the ability to inspire and motivate pupils to realise their full potential.
Through effective leadership, the Head of Design and Technology will shape the department’s strategic direction and ensure high standards of curriculum delivery, resources, and health and safety. They will bring passion, expertise, and creativity to the classroom delivering engaging lessons and nurturing each pupil’s potential within our School’s ethos.
