Salary: The salary for this role will be on The Marist’s Leadership Scale and will reflect the seniority of the position and the experience of the successful candidate.

About the role: The Deputy Head plays a central role in the strategic leadership, organisation and day-to-day running of the School, working in close partnership with the Principal and other members of the Senior Leadership Team. The post carries significant responsibility across academic, pastoral and super-curricular life and offers an outstanding opportunity for a highly experienced educational leader of authority, judgement and experience, including those who may aspire to move into Headship in due course.

The successful candidate will be decisive yet adaptable, able to respond effectively to evolving circumstances, and demonstrate outstanding organisational skills, managing competing priorities while maintaining clarity, pace, and strategic focus. They will combine an ambitious and innovative vision for the School’s future with the emotional intelligence required to motivate, develop and get the best from a dedicated, talented and experienced teaching team. Above all, they will be a visible, inspiring presence within the school, championing excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarship while embodying the values of The Marist School.

The Deputy Head reports directly to the Principal and works closely with a team of three Assistant Heads. Although they are primarily focused on Seniors and VI Form, they work closely with our Preparatory School’s leadership to ensure continuity of academic and pastoral values.
