Are you an experienced CAD Designer looking to join a growing engineering business with a global customer base? We are recruiting for a Tool Designer to join a market-leading manufacturer of specialist food processing and packaging equipment. Operating internationally, the business designs and manufactures highly engineered machinery used by many of the world's leading food producers.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established design team, working on bespoke and standard equipment projects from concept through to manufacture.
The RoleYou will be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D CAD designs for tooling and machinery, ensuring designs meet both customer requirements and internal quality standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Creating and maintaining bills of materials (BOMs)
- Developing tooling and machinery designs for manufacture
- Interpreting customer requirements and converting concepts into manufacturable designs
- Working closely with production and engineering teams to resolve design and quality issues
- Supporting new product development activities
- Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and design improvements
- Maintaining drawing records, documentation and technical data
We are looking for candidates with:
- Engineering qualification (ONC, HNC, HND or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years' experience within an engineering design environment
- Strong AutoCAD 2D experience
- Good SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD experience
- Understanding of mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
