The Contracts and Compliance team supports our Sales Floor, managing the businesses contractual agreements with clients, candidates, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Ensuring we meet all contractual and legal compliance requirements as we onboard and extend candidates/placements.

The Senior Contracts & Compliance Manager (EU) plays a dual role in:

  • Contracts: managing contractual agreements with clients, candidates, vendors, and internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and ensuring compliance of all commercial agreements, while working closely with our in-house Legal Team and external in-country Legal partners.
  • Compliance: the onboarding of new candidates, and ensuring compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.

This role is focused on supporting our International sales business, specifically across EU and Switzerland, with some secondary support for the US and UAE. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of contract law, ideally European experience in the recruitment sector, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Drafting & Review: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including client agreements, terms of business, confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, client schedules and candidate-related contracts whilst ensuring alignment with EU employment laws, GDPR, and recruitment industry regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring that agreements protect the company’s legal and commercial interests.
  • Strategic Compliance Leadership: Lead and manage all compliance activities across our EU activity, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies, particularly in relation to employment, data protection, and commercial practices in the recruitment sector.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor a Compliance Administrator, providing strategic guidance, training, and performance oversight while fostering a culture of compliance excellence.
  • Regulatory & Risk Oversight: Monitor, interpret, and implement EU-wide regulatory changes, ensuring compliance across all jurisdictions within the group. Assess and mitigate compliance risks through proactive policies and internal controls.
  • Audit & Risk Management: Lead regular internal audits and compliance reviews, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective measures to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Maintain and manage the contract lifecycle, including storage, renewal, and termination, ensuring timely follow-up on key dates.
  • Process Improvement: Maintain and frequently review best practices for contract management and compliance processes and frameworks and contribute to continuous improvement for the function.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, legal, and finance) to ensure contracts align with business objectives and provide support during the negotiation process.
  • Reporting & Strategic Insights: Prepare and present detailed compliance reports, including audit findings, risk assessments, and regulatory updates, offering recommendations to senior management.

What You Need to Succeed in This Role

  • Education: Preferable: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A legal qualification or certification in contract management is a plus.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in compliance management, risk assessment, and regulatory oversight within an EU business environment. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role, preferably within the recruitment or staffing sector, especially beneficial to have EU exposure. Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements.
  • Skills & Competence: Strong knowledge of EU employment laws, GDPR, and recruitment industry compliance frameworks. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable solutions. Proficiency in compliance management systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams. Ability to handle multiple contracts and cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
