The Ickworth, part of Luxury Family Hotels, is entering an exciting new era. As a Linen Porter, you will play a part in shaping the next chapter of this much-loved Suffolk retreat.

Position Overview

As Linen Porter, you are key to ensuring the housekeeping team's success! Your role will involve delivering clean linen and collecting all dirty linen from the service rooms, striving to always maintain accurate stock levels. You will routinely assess the quality of the delivered linen and maintain tidy and well-organised service areas. You will work closely with other departments to ensure seamless turnover of bedrooms and interact with guests in a professional, friendly manner. This is a permanent position at 40 hours per week. Flexibility will be key to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

  • Collect linen and towels from guest rooms and public areas.
  • Inspect linens for stains, tears, and other damages, and report any issues to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Fold and stack clean linens and towels neatly, ready for distribution.
  • Deliver clean linens and towels to designated storage areas and replenish supplies in guest rooms and public areas as needed.
  • Assist with the maintenance and organisation of the linen room and laundry facilities.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Desk teams to ensure timely delivery and collection of linens based on guest needs.

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy loads.
