The i Paper is seeking a Senior Social Video Producer to join our team as we accelerate our growth on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. This role is responsible for overseeing and delivering high-impact short-form video while also playing a senior leadership role within the social video team. You will have ownership of two of our key social video channels - Money Coach and How I Live - setting editorial priorities, overseeing daily output and ensuring we publish the right content on the right platforms, at pace, to meet audience and growth goals.
Working closely with the Head of Social Video, you will contribute to wider social video strategy, using performance data and insight to inform decision-making, commissioning and experimentation. You will bring strong editorial judgement and production expertise, setting standards and guiding the creation of high-quality, platform-native video for The i Paper’s social channels. You will shape clear, engaging service journalism and lifestyle storytelling for vertical video platforms, responding creatively to the news agenda and evolving audience interests.
As a senior video lead, you will also manage daily workflows across both channels - assessing and responding to pitches, commissioning scripts, reviewing edits and making clear editorial decisions about what to prioritise in response to the news cycle. You will work closely with the social team and news desks to plan coverage, react to trending news and test new formats and approaches to grow reach and engagement.
Successful applicants should be available on a Monday – Friday and will be required to work from our London office at least three days a week.
Key responsibilities:- Manage daily workflows, including assessing pitches, commissioning scripts, reviewing edits and signing off output.
- Produce and publish video content tailored for Money Coach and How I Live’s target audiences on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
- Make data-led decisions to pitch ideas for subjects, framings and new formats with audience growth in mind.
- Craft compelling captions and messaging to drive engagement and viewer loyalty.
- Track content performance to inform future creative and strategic decisions.
- Work closely with teams across the organisation to develop standout video material.
- Monitor emerging trends to keep content relevant and platform-optimised.
- Excellent understanding of video for social media and the differing requirements for each platform.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing day-to-day workflows or guiding other producers.
- Experience in pitching, writing, shooting and editing shortform videos.
- Fast, efficient editing in Adobe Premier Pro or similar tools.
- Strong data literacy with the ability to translate insight into clear, actionable strategy.
- An experimental, creative approach to problem solving.
- Strong news sense and a passion for telling stories that reach new audiences.
- Good knowledge of trends and how to spot emerging topics.
