The i Paper is appointing a Money Coach Reporter to join our ambitious and growing newsroom, with a focus on expanding our expert-led advice content. Responsibilities

  • Source and deliver original, differentiated reporting on the personal finance topics that matter most to our growing audience – from the cost of living and mortgages to pensions, savings, and consumer rights
  • Develop and maintain a network of influential financial experts, commissioning and executing multi-platform series that translate complex issues into accessible, relatable content
  • Source and interview case studies that bring stories to life across video and audio that clearly illustrate the real-world impact of financial trends and policies
  • Develop and deliver utility and reactive content that helps readers save money, avoid pitfalls, and make smarter financial choices
  • Work closely with editors to shape coverage, spot emerging topics, and experiment with new digital formats (interactive guides, newsletters, video scripts, data visualisations)
  • Work closely with platform and audience specialists across the newsroom, using data to inform commissioning, ensuring content reaches and engages large, diverse audiences

Essential skills

  • Strong track record in digital journalism, with demonstrable experience and expertise in personal finance, consumer reporting, or related beats
  • Ability to identify and land high-impact stories, from scoops and data-led investigations to practical money-saving guides
  • Proven expertise in writing clear, compelling, and reader-friendly content.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of digital publishing tools, SEO, and analytics, with a sharp eye for what resonates with online audiences
