London Bridge

Hyde is looking to recruit a Data Engineering Analyst to join our Data Engineering & Information Systems Architecture team within Digital and Information. If you enjoy solving technical problems and turning data into reliable, usable information, this is an opportunity to apply your skills to work that supports reporting, analysis and service improvement.

Working with Senior and Lead Data Engineers, analysts and business colleagues, you’ll develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations, bring agreed data sources into Snowflake and help keep our data accurate, secure and dependable. You’ll deliver defined technical work within agreed designs and standards, with guidance from senior colleagues on more complex decisions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building, maintaining and improving data pipelines and integrations using approved tools and engineering practices.
  • Transforming, cleansing and validating data so it meets agreed quality requirements and is ready for reporting and analysis.
  • Monitoring scheduled processes, investigating routine failures and escalating issues that need specialist input.
  • Testing changes, maintaining version-controlled code and documenting data flows so solutions can be supported and changed safely.
  • Working with colleagues to understand requirements, deliver agreed outputs and identify practical opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Applying data governance, security and UK GDPR requirements to your day-to-day work.

What you’ll bring

  • Practical experience of developing or supporting data pipelines, integrations or data warehouse processes in a cloud-based or comparable environment.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Python, or similar languages, with the ability to write, test and troubleshoot code.
  • An understanding of data modelling, ETL or ELT, data quality and warehousing concepts. Familiarity with Snowflake, AWS or equivalent technologies is relevant.
  • A methodical approach to investigating technical issues, organising your workload and recognising when to seek guidance.
  • Clear communication and collaborative working skills, alongside experience of version control, technical documentation and controlled development practices.
