Would you like to join Hyde as a Carpenter? If you're a hands-on tradesperson who can turn their hand to a range of jobs and takes pride in doing things properly, we'd like to hear from you.
As a Carpenter at Hyde, you'll be working in our homes carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance. You'll be trusted to get jobs done right first time and to treat our customers with respect in their homes.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out multi-trade repairs including carpentry and general maintenance
- Fixing day-to-day issues such as doors, kitchens, bathrooms, leaks, walls and flooring
- Completing patch plastering, minor tiling, painting and similar finishing works
- Working on your own jobs but also alongside other trades when needed
- Following work orders and reporting back on progress and materials used
- Working safely at all times and following Hyde's health and safety procedures
- Providing a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes
- UPVC Repairs & Maintenance: Repairing and maintaining windows and doors, including replacing hinges, handles, and locking mechanisms
- Installing new fire doors, including cutting and adjusting frames
What we're looking for:
- Solid experience across multiple trades, especially carpentry
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload
- A practical problem-solver who can spot issues and fix them properly
- Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude
- Physically fit and happy with hands-on work
- Experience working in social housing is a bonus
- A full, valid UK driving licence
- Must have UPVC skills
