Why be a People Advisor for THG Nutrition Manufacturing? As a People Advisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering a proactive and hands‑on people service across a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You’ll take ownership of core Employee Relations cases, providing clear, pragmatic guidance to managers on areas such as absence, performance, and employee wellbeing. You’ll coach and influence managers to build strong people management capability, supporting performance, engagement, and development across the site. From delivering training and supporting inductions to driving a positive and inclusive culture, you’ll help embed best practice at every level.
As a People Advisor for Nutrition Manufacturing you’ll:
- Employee Relations: Take responsibility for the management of all core ER cases across business areas including all sickness cases, flexible working requests, performance management plans, probations, grievance and disciplinary processes. Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and managers as required. Liaise with the People Business Partner to ensure appropriate support is provided to THG on complex ER issues. Champion the development of people management skills across the Group. Management of Parental Leave across business areas.
- Performance Management: Coach and influence managers from a people perspective, developing their people management/leadership skills and constructively challenging inappropriate behaviours/actions. Ensure all cases of formal performance management are documented and recorded in line with internal audit requirements.
- Engagement & Development: Support with creation and roll out of engagement activities. Develop Managers and colleagues in coaching skills and our people processes. Support the delivery of the local induction as required. Delivery of HR module training to internal management team. Support positive ED&I culture within the wider team. Work closely with wider People Team (including HR Shared Services, Payroll and the People Data team) to ensure an accurate and timely input of all payroll information on to the system in line with deadlines. Provide advice and guidance to staff and managers and work with them to ensure they follow processes and procedures.
- Data Analysis: Attrition analysis, Exit Interviews and associated action planning. Following up on data trends coming out of KPI pack.
What skills and experience do I need for this role?
- At least two years HR experience (Ideally within Manufacturing).
- Ideally experience advising managers and stakeholders on HR policies and procedures.
- Experience managing high volume of casework.
- ER knowledge.
- Strong technical skills and a good working knowledge of current employment legislation.
- Strong listening and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Ability to analyse data and summarise key findings.
- Good communication and data presentation skills.
- Capable of working using your own initiative.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Level 3 or 5 CIPD qualification would be advantageous, but not essential.
