Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and line management to the team, coordinating daily workloads and providing support to ensure the team delivers against business targets.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the assigned section by applying people and resources effectively to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards.
  • Manage daily operations to meet production throughput against stated capacity targets, ensuring the team is aware of day-to-day responsibilities and goals.
  • Uphold and enforce all Health & Safety, Quality, and Food Safety standards, ensuring full compliance and prompt escalation of any issues.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying business improvement opportunities, performing root cause analysis, and implementing efficiency enhancements.
  • Take responsibility for the training and development of team members, identifying skill gaps and deploying technical expertise to build a high-performing team.

Key Duties

  • Lead investigations into any incidents, accidents, or non-conformities, completing all associated reporting and ensuring corrective actions are implemented and closed.
  • Guarantee full adherence to all quality and food safety standards, ensuring team members follow defined manufacturing procedures.
  • Ensure all production records are completed appropriately, and systems are functioning correctly to support quality audits.
  • Oversee the clear identification and segregation of non-conforming materials, ensuring the escalation procedure for quality concerns is followed promptly.
  • Champion and ensure full adherence to 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices.
  • Communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) so that each employee is aware of expectations and deliverables, and report on performance to the management team.
  • Act as the primary point of product expertise within the team, responding to operator queries and working positively with support functions.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with other departments, such as Production Scheduling and Quality Assurance, to ensure a smooth operational flow.
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example, ensuring each team member understands the standards and behaviour expected of them.
  • Support, comply, and ensure compliance with the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.
