Overview
The Shift Engineer is a key leadership role within the engineering team of a food processing facility. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities across various shifts, ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment, and providing technical expertise to resolve complex issues. The Senior Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency within the food production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on and assist with developing the Plant PPM program, while using your RCA skills in response to Reactive tasks, to move the department towards a predictive Maintenance culture.
- Supervise, control and monitor the operation of electrical manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Ensure that manufacturing, operation and maintenance complies with design specifications and contractual arrangements.
- Organise and establish control systems to monitor the performance and safety of electrical equipment and systems.
- Communicate maintenance progress updates to your colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records of tasks completed / in progress using the departments CMMS system.
- Work in a methodical fashion to maintain Food safety standards and traceability of engineering activities.
- Support Production Technical Operators, guide and improve their TPM activities.
- Work closely with Production to identify and drive Continuous Improvement opportunities.
