The role will report into the Head of Product on the MP Activewear Clothing and will involve working closely with the design team, merchandisers and garment technologists to oversee and deliver high quality product and drive the brand ambition forward. As a Menswear Buyer You'll:
- Be responsible for the menswear category with an assistant buyer.
- Drive the ambition of the brand by looking at growth opportunities and clearly understand product trends and opportunities.
- Influence strategic plans and developments.
- Work with design to develop and deliver core and seasonal ranges, with a clear understanding of the customer and the markets.
- Interpret trends for sportswear.
- Oversee range frameworks in all commercial aspects.
- Have a clear vision on supplier strategy and drive the supply base forward working closely with the sourcing team.
- Ensure you are working to a true partnership that will develop best results with suppliers.
- Drive margin improvements within the category.
- Respond to competitor analysis and review competitors in different global markets.
- Work with the merchandising team to plan, manage and challenge the buy and profit targets at all times.
- Review trading action plans.
- Drive product quality, fit and customer metrics delivering solutions and new innovation working closely with garment tech and quality team.
- Work collaboratively on sustainability across areas of product development.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across all areas of the business.
- Work with the brand team to deliver evolution plan.
- Collaborate with the influencer team on developing partnerships.
Role Requirements:
- Buyer / Junior Buyer with experience in Sportswear product.
- Proven track record of managing and mentoring teams.
- Commercial awareness of sportswear market.
- Financial and analytical ability, ability to review and react to performance.
- Experience of Far East and European travel and sourcing from various locations.
- Manage clear KPI’s, budgets and margin targets on sizeable category.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to form strong working relationships.
