We are THG, a global ecommerce group on a mission to be the global online leader in beauty and sports nutrition. Our portfolio of leading retailers and brands such as LOOKFANTASTIC, Myprotein, ESPA, Perricone MD, and Cult Beauty form our two core businesses: THG Beauty and THG Nutrition. From Manchester to New York, we’re powered by a team of over 2500 people who work together, lead by example, and think BIG. With us, you’ll go further, faster.

About Central Functions: Central Functions is formed of the teams and people that serve the entire business. These people are integral to the smooth running of the business; ensuring everyone is paid on time, that materials are sourced and arrive promptly, that we meet our legal obligations and that our health, safety, and security is safeguarded.

Why be the Data Reporting Lead at THG? THG runs a large, complex e-commerce business across Beauty and Nutrition — and like many fast-growing companies, our reporting has evolved organically. We have a significant number of dashboards and reports built by people across the business, using different definitions, different data sources and different standards. The result is that two people can look at the same metric and see different numbers.

The Data Reporting Lead exists to fix that. You will own the consistency, quality and evolution of business performance reporting across THG PLC — ensuring that any regularly used report or dashboard is built to a consistent standard, uses agreed metric definitions, and is owned and maintained within a structured framework.

You will manage two Sr BI Analysts (one aligned to Beauty, one to Nutrition), and you will be the person who sets the bar for what good reporting looks like at THG. This is not about building every dashboard yourself — it is about owning the framework, the standards and the quality, and ensuring that your team and the wider business are aligned on how we measure and report performance.

There is no established function to inherit here. Reporting has been done, but not owned. You will define what owned reporting looks like, identify what belongs within your managed framework, and begin the process of bringing consistency to a landscape that currently lacks it.

What you’ll do:

  • Reporting Standards & Framework: Define and own the reporting standards for THG PLC — covering metric definitions, dashboard design principles, naming conventions and data source standards. Establish a clear framework for what constitutes a "managed report" — any regularly used dashboard, KPI report or executive view should sit within this framework, be owned by the team, and be built to a consistent standard. Audit the existing reporting landscape — identify what exists, what is actively used, what is duplicated, and what needs to be rationalised. Work with the Data Governance Lead to ensure that reporting metric definitions are aligned with the broader data governance framework — one agreed definition for every key metric. Lead the development and maintenance of the core PLC reporting suite — business performance dashboards, KPI reports and executive-level views across Beauty and Nutrition. Ensure all managed dashboards are accurate, up to date, clearly documented and built to the agreed standard. Oversee and quality-control the work of the two Sr BI Analysts — reviewing dashboards, providing feedback and ensuring consistent quality across both divisional views. Manage the evolution of existing reports — ensuring they remain relevant, accurate and aligned to business needs as the business changes.
  • Tooling & Platform: Own the Tableau estate for THG PLC — including Tableau Server/Cloud administration, user management and performance. Stay current with Tableau developments and BI tooling trends — assessing when new features or alternative tools could improve how we report. Work with the Engineering team to ensure the data layer that feeds reporting is reliable, well-structured and appropriate for BI consumption. Assess and make recommendations on complementary or alternative BI tooling as the business's needs evolve.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for reporting requests and requirements from across the business. Manage stakeholder expectations clearly — distinguishing between requests that belong within the managed framework and ad hoc analysis that sits elsewhere. Present reporting capability and standards to senior stakeholders, building confidence in the quality and consistency of what we produce.
  • People & Team: Manage and develop two Sr BI Analysts — one Beauty-aligned, one Nutrition-aligned. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback and support career development for both direct reports. Build a culture of quality, consistency and continuous improvement within the reporting function.

What skills and experience do I need for this role?

  • Expert-level Tableau skills — you must be able to build, review and maintain complex dashboards and have a deep understanding of Tableau architecture (Server/Cloud, data sources, extracts, performance).
  • Advanced SQL — able to write complex queries and work confidently with large datasets in BigQuery or equivalent.
  • Proven experience owning or leading a BI or reporting function — you understand what managed reporting looks like and how to build it.
  • Strong understanding of metric definition, data modelling for BI, and the importance of a consistent semantic layer.
  • Experience managing and developing analysts or BI developers.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills — able to manage competing priorities and set clear expectations.
  • Experience with Looker or other modern BI tools alongside Tableau.
  • Familiarity with dbt or Dataform for data transformation feeding BI layers.
  • E-commerce or retail background.
  • Experience implementing or contributing to a data governance framework for reporting metrics.
