The Role
We're looking for an experienced Brand Strategist to sit at the intersection of consumer insight, brand strategy and creative development.
This role will be responsible for transforming business challenges into compelling, insight-led brand and campaign briefs that inspire exceptional creative work.
Acting as the voice of the consumer within the business, you will uncover deep customer understanding, identify emerging trends and translate complex data into actionable strategic recommendations.
You will play a critical role in ensuring that every major brand initiative, campaign and proposition is rooted in genuine consumer needs, motivations and behaviours.
Alongside leading our consumer insight agenda, you will work together with the internal insight team to own the proliferation of the brand health metrics, ensuring that brand performance and market understanding continually inform our strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Consumer & Brand Strategy
- Translate commercial and business objectives into clear, inspiring and consumer-centric insights to inform creative briefs.
- Develop strategic frameworks, positioning territories and propositions that guide brand, campaigns and product development.
- Partner closely with Brand, Product and Commercial teams to ensure customer insight is embedded into decision-making.
- Be the Voice of the Consumer
- Design and lead primary research programmes to understand customer behaviours, needs, motivations and attitudes.
- Build a deep understanding of category dynamics across nutrition, wellness, fitness and lifestyle culture.
- Explore customer perceptions of Myprotein, competitors and wider market trends. Utilising all available data sources and publicly available forums.
- Champion a culture of customer obsession throughout the organisation.
- Develop and maintain a clear understanding of who our customers are and how our audience is evolving.
- Lead future customer segmentation initiatives to identify growth opportunities and guide brand, marketing and product strategies.
- Create actionable audience frameworks that enable teams to move beyond assumptions and make evidence-based decisions.
- Monitor cultural, consumer and category trends to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders across the business.
- Brand Health & Performance
- Work with insight to craft and evolve Myprotein's brand tracking programme across key markets.
- Analyse and interpret brand health metrics, identifying opportunities, risks and emerging trends.
- Deliver monthly and quarterly insight sessions with the insight team that inform strategic priorities and creative development.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 5+ years experience in Brand Strategy, Consumer Insight, Strategic Planning or Brand Planning roles.
- Experience developing consumer-led brand, campaign or innovation strategies for consumer-facing brands.
- Strong background in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Experience managing research agencies and external insight partners.
- Proven ability to translate insight into creative and commercial action.
Skills
- Exceptional strategic thinking and storytelling ability.
- Strong briefing skills, with experience developing creative briefs that inspire impactful work.
- Deep understanding of consumer research methodologies and insight generation.
- Ability to connect data, culture and consumer behaviour into clear strategic recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills. With a particular focus on making complex data/large data sets simple to understand.
- Experience within health, wellness, nutrition, fitness or FMCG categories.
- Experience leading customer segmentation projects.
