We are seeking a highly organised, analytical, and proactive Assistant Merchandiser to support our merchandising function within the MP Activewear clothing team. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth stock flow, accurate planning, and efficient operational coordination across suppliers and warehouses. You will work closely with the Merchandiser and wider teams to help drive sales performance while maintaining strong control over stock intake, deliveries, and supplier management.
As a Assistant Merchandiser you’ll:
- Stock & Intake Management
- Manage intake to the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of stock
- Oversee and track shipments from suppliers through to warehouse receipt
- Liaise with freight forwarders to monitor shipment schedules and resolve delays
- Raise and maintain Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accuracy across systems
- Ensure delivery standards and supplier compliance requirements are met
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to resolve discrepancies in deliveries, shortages, or damages
- Monitor intake flow against plan and elevate potential risks to trade plans
- Planning & Trading Support
- Support forecasting, stock planning, and replenishment activities
- Support promotional planning and seasonal launches
- Reporting & Administration
- Prepare weekly and monthly trading reports
- Maintain accurate product, shipment, and stock data
- Track supplier performance and delivery KPIs
What skills and experience do I need for this role?
- Previous experience in merchandising, supply chain, buying, or retail operations desired but not essential
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Excel
