Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to join our expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse client portfolio in a consultancy environment, delivering health and safety consultancy, supporting RISQS and contractor accreditations , advising on CDM compliance , and developing ISO management systems that help organisations achieve and maintain high standards.

The Role

This role is varied and client facing, that combines technical expertise with relationship building and consultancy skills. You'll work with organisations across multiple industries, helping them achieve compliance, maintain high standards and continuously improve their health, safety, quality and environmental performance.

As a Health & Safety Consultant, you’ll advise a diverse range of clients, providing expert support across:

  • Health & Safety Consultancy
  • CDM Regulations & Principal Designer Services
  • RISQS & Contractor Accreditation Support
  • ISO Management Systems (45001, 9001, 14001)
  • Auditing, Compliance Reviews & Risk Management
  • Training, Advisory & Client Support

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide competent person health and safety support to a portfolio of clients
  • Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance reviews
  • Develop and maintain health & safety policies, procedures and management systems
  • Support clients with contractor accreditations including RISQS, CHAS, SMAS, Achilles, UVDB and Constructionline
  • Assist clients in implementing and maintaining ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems
  • Deliver practical advice on legislation, compliance and industry best practice
  • Support organisations in meeting their obligations under the CDM Regulations
  • Undertake or support Principal Designer and CDM Advisor duties
  • Deliver health & safety training, toolbox talks and awareness sessionsPrepare audit reports, compliance documentation and improvement plans
  • Build trusted relationships and provide commercially focused consultancy support

The Requirements & Desirable Capabilities

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
  • Experience working as a Health & Safety Consultant, Advisor or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of RISQS and contractor accreditation schemes
  • Experience supporting ISO management systems, particularly ISO 45001
  • Experience conducting audits and compliance reviews
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client projects
  • Full UK driving licence

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience within the rail, utility and construction sectors
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Principal Designer or CDM Advisor experience
  • IOSH membership (TechIOSH, GradIOSH or CMIOSH)
  • Experience with integrated management systems

Advantageous:

  • Knowledge of the Building Safety Act
