Reporting to the Customer Services Manager, you’ll play an important role in supporting customer accounts and making sure customers receive a professional, responsive and reliable service. You’ll act as a key point of contact for customers, coordinate communications, maintain accurate account information and work closely with SET’s Commercial, Engineering and Operations teams to keep things moving. If you enjoy building customer relationships, keeping on top of the detail and making sure actions are followed through properly, this could be a great next step.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the Customer Services Manager and Commercial team with day-to-day account administration.
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for customer enquiries, updates and routine communications.
  • Preparing, maintaining and updating customer records, account information and internal databases.
  • Producing regular reports on account activity, order status, service updates and customer requirements.
  • Liaising with Engineering, Operations and Commercial teams to resolve queries and maintain service levels.
  • Monitoring customer issues and escalating concerns where required.
  • Assisting with quotations, proposals and account documentation.
  • Coordinating customer meetings and follow-up actions.
  • Supporting order processing and general customer administration.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve customer service processes and ways of working.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be someone who is organised, confident dealing with customers and comfortable managing several priorities at once. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in account coordination, customer service, commercial support or a similar role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving skills and sound judgement.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using CRM or ERP systems would be desirable.
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.

What SET Offers:

  • Salary of £28,000 – £30,000, depending on experience.
  • 37-hour working week with a Friday lunchtime finish.
  • 28 days’ holiday, including bank holidays, with three days reserved for the Christmas shutdown.
  • The opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist engineering business.
  • A collaborative working environment with experienced colleagues across Customer Services, Commercial, Engineering and Operations.
  • The opportunity to take ownership of customer accounts and contribute ideas to improve customer service processes.
  • A varied role supporting customers across a range of specialist engineering projects and services.

Why Join SET

This is a role where organisation, communication and follow-through really matter. You’ll be joining a business where you can build strong customer relationships, work closely with different teams and have a genuine impact on the service customers receive.
