The Role:
Calling all brilliant sales people. Are you a relationship-building sales wizard with a passion for seeing brands explode? Our client is a 3PL fulfilment provider who doesn’t just move boxes; they power the dreams of online retailers. They’re the secret engine behind a wide range of clients, and due to big growth plans, they’re looking for a BDM to take on this fabulous new role and really turbo-charge their sales function.
Working side-by-side with the Business Development Director, you’ll be the driving force behind bringing new, exciting retailers into the business – with 85% of existing business being in the music industry, it’s fair to say this role is anything but dull.
If you’ve got a solid background in sales, relationship building and business development, as well as that perfect blend of energy and enthusiasm, along with a calm cool demeanour when things get busy, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- The New Business Engine: As well as converting inbound leads into customers, you’ll be responsible for hunting and winning new business, primarily across the music, drinks and sports sectors, as well as any new exciting markets. That will mean cold calling, cold emailing and other kinds of cold communication – whatever works to start building a relationship.
- The Retailer’s Best Friend: You’ll identify high-potential online brands and show them exactly how our fulfilment magic can save their sanity and scale their sales.
- Relationship Architect: Forget hard sales. You’re here to build genuine connections. You’ll listen to their pain points (shipping delays, storage woes, packing nightmares) and present the ultimate fulfilment cure.
Who You Are:
Crucially you’ll have worked in 3PL and have a good understanding of the industry. If you’ve worked in music distribution that’s even better. We’re looking for someone who has a solid background in sales and business development (this definitely isn’t a trainee role) specifically:
- You’re a proactive powerhouse - you don’t wait for the phone to ring, or to be told what to do. You’re out there making things happen, spotting opportunities before they even appear on the radar.
- Energetic, not exhausting - you’re enthusiastic and passionate, but you know when to listen. No "pushy car salesman" just pure, likable expertise.
- The ultimate team player - you’re a 'we' person, not an 'I' person. You love winning as a team and helping your colleagues shine.
- A relationship builder - you have a knack for making people feel heard and understood. You’re the person everyone wants to grab a coffee with at a networking event.
- Experienced but humble: You know the sales game inside out, but you’re always hungry to learn more about the fast-paced world of logistics and e-commerce.
Why you want this job:
- Zero micro-management – all the trust to be the professional you are.
- Hybrid working - be onsite 2-3 days per week so you can spend time with colleagues and become a real part of the gang.
- You have a real hunger to win and be successful in a sales role, and then be rewarded handsomely for it.
- A culture of "Yes" – we want you to bring your new ideas and a 'can-do' spirit.
- Growth opportunities – the business is expanding fast, and if you’re part of the team, you’ll have all the opportunities for growth that you want.
