We are seeking a passionate Junior Sous Chef to join The Hoxton, Holborn's Rondo restaurant. Rondo is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant offering seasonal modern bistro dishes and great wines for all. The kitchen is headed by Chef Chris Gillard.
What you’ll do:
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in leading a large, dynamic kitchen team.
- Drive innovation and create a culture of menu development while maintaining the framework of a Hoxton Restaurant menu.
- Maintain kitchen standards, seeking efficient solutions while preserving the quality and integrity of the menu.
- In the absence of the Head Chef and Sous Chef, oversee the kitchen team.
- Ensure both guest and team experience are at the heart of all actions, leading by example, motivating the team and fostering empowerment.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience as a Junior Sous Chef in a busy, bustling environment with freshness and provenance of ingredients as a key priority.
- Proven track record supporting and managing large kitchen teams.
- A true passion for creativity while maintaining the integrity of our brand standards through the dishes on the menu.
- An attitude of collaboration and humility—no egos, teamwork wins.
- Passion for hospitality, creating memorable experiences for guests and colleagues alike.
- Willingness to experiment and try new ideas.
- Desire to be part of a hard-working, supportive, and fun team.
- Experience in M&E (meetings and events) or banqueting is beneficial.
